Nexcopy Adds Standalone microSD Duplicators

Nexcopy Adds Standalone microSD Duplicators With microSD Card Sanitization Features

Press Release:

LAKE FOREST, CA – CALIFORNIA, ORANGE COUNTY, June 22, 2016 Nexcopy Inc., a leading manufacturer and developer of flash memory duplicators, introduces two new standalone microSD Duplicator models to Nexcopy’s line of flash memory duplicators and sanitizers. The 1-15 and 1-31 target systems offer unparalleled copy speeds to Secure Digital media with additional functions for device sanitization.

microSD duplicator

The duplicators function primarily as binary copiers with a variety of built in features including:

  • Bit by Bit Copying
  • Benchmarking and Speed Test
  • Pre-Scan Memory Features
  • Speeds up to 1GB per minute
  • Multiple Speed Copy Modes
  • Control Equipment with Boot Password
  • Set Language to: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese

The microSD duplicators operate as stand-alone devices where a host computer is not required to perform the bit-by-bit duplication or the binary sanitization processes. The simple one-button operation of these advanced duplicators are ideal for IT departments, fulfillment houses, flash memory manufacturers, business, software developers and government agencies. For data professionals or businesses distributing data to employees or customers, a duplicator with this balance of speed and reliability can become an integral tool for daily activities.

Additionally, these new standalone microSD duplicators by Nexcopy can sanitize multiple devices simultaneously saving IT professionals valuable time in flash memory management. Core functions of these new systems include the binary copy process used in the popular Nexcopy USB duplicators systems. Binary copy modes include the ability to copy bootable microSD media, FAT, FAT32, NTFS, ext2, ext3, ext4 and any other file format system, proprietary or public.

“Pivoting from our core binary copy firmware, Nexcopy expands our technology to include sanitization features now being sought by IT professionals,” says Greg Morris, Nexcopy Inc. President. “It is important for Nexcopy to listen to the requests of our customers and act upon them to bring the best product to market.”

The microSD flash memory card, also known simply as microSD, has a relatively short but impactful history, marked by rapid technological advancements and widespread adoption. Here’s a brief overview of its development:

Introduction: The microSD card was first introduced in 2005 by the SD Association, a non-profit organization that sets standards for SD memory cards. It was developed as a smaller variant of the standard SD (Secure Digital) card, with dimensions of 11 mm × 15 mm × 1 mm, making it ideal for use in compact electronic devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, and portable media players.

Evolution of Capacities: Initially, microSD cards were available with relatively small storage capacities, typically ranging from a few megabytes to a few gigabytes. However, over time, advancements in flash memory technology enabled manufacturers to produce microSD cards with much larger capacities, reaching up to several terabytes (TB) in recent years.

Technological Advancements: MicroSD cards have undergone significant technological advancements since their introduction. This includes improvements in data transfer speeds, with the introduction of faster bus interfaces such as UHS-I, UHS-II, and UHS-III, allowing for faster read and write speeds to meet the demands of high-definition video recording, gaming, and other data-intensive applications.

Application Expansion: As the capacity and performance of microSD cards improved, their applications expanded beyond traditional mobile devices to include a wide range of consumer electronics, automotive systems, IoT (Internet of Things) devices, and industrial applications. MicroSD cards are now commonly used for storing music, photos, videos, maps, applications, firmware updates, and other digital content.

Adoption in Mobile Devices: MicroSD cards quickly became a standard feature in many mobile phones and smartphones, offering users a convenient way to expand the device’s storage capacity for storing media files, apps, and other data. Some devices even support the use of microSD cards as internal storage, allowing for seamless integration with the device’s onboard storage.

Security Features: With the increasing use of microSD cards for storing sensitive data, manufacturers have introduced various security features to protect against data loss, theft, and unauthorized access. This includes features such as built-in encryption, password protection, and secure erase functions.

Continued Innovation: The microSD card continues to evolve with ongoing innovation in flash memory technology. Manufacturers are constantly working to increase storage capacities, improve data transfer speeds, enhance durability, and reduce power consumption to meet the evolving needs of consumers and industries.

Does China Have The World’s Most Powerful Computer System?

Installed this week at the National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi, Sunway TaihuLight easily breaks its way into the top 10 of the international Top500 list for computing systems. More impressive however, is the margin by which it beats the #2 spot(also in China) to be the most powerful computing system in the world. With over 10.5 million locally-made processing cores and 40,960 nodes Sunway Taihu light is capable of 93 petaflops which is a term most people do not and should not ever need in their lives. Counting up trillions upon trillions is required to put that figure into perspective and it means 93 quadrillion floating-point operations per second (FLOPS). In other words… lots.

Main applications for the system for now include advanced manufacturing, weather forecasting, and big data analytics but we’ve seen computers less powerful being applied to genome mapping and heavily extensive theoretical physics equations. Software for a computer with multiple cores can be difficult to write but software to take advantage of 10 million would be almost as much effort as building the system itself depending on the goal functionality. For the nerdy out there, the Sunway TaihuLight is an extremely high-spec Grand Prix racing car. Fantastic for races in a circuit, but not something any one person would ever need in order to drive to work.
